It's April
Here it is almost mid-April, and I've yet to post. That's because we have been busy, busy, busy. We've been to a wedding, celebrated Easter, had get-togethers with friends, and much more. Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks.
First off, here are some pictures of an egg hunt back on March 28:
Here's a photo I love! Cindy was "helping" Ryan dig postholes on March 30 and got all muddy. The look on Kaden's face behind her is priceless!
We went to my cousin's wedding on April 3, but the night before there was a family dinner. The kids really enjoyed the church's playground.
They also enjoyed the cake at the wedding!

Remembering Naboo
Well, we are now officially petless. Mushu died a little over 2 years ago and on Tuesday night, March 23, Naboo went to join her in heaven. He too was hit by a car. This reiterates why we are using our tax return to get a fence. Our street is just too busy. :(
We waited until Wednesday after preschool to tell Kaden about Naboo. He cried for a long time and kept saying, "But I love him..." as if that could bring him back. It was heartbreaking. Cindy doesn't understand and keeps calling for Naboo. Kaden tries to explain it to her.
This morning, Kaden was reminding Cindy once again that Naboo isn't going to come when she calls for him. Then he turned to me and said, "But you know what Mommy? Naboo is happy now because he gets to play with Mushu and Jesus." He is such a smart boy!
Here is a picture of Naboo that was taken just a few days before he died. I always wanted a big, lazy orange cat like Garfield, and I certainly got him. He will be missed.

10 Months & 1 Week
10 months and 1 week ago I held my 10 month and 1 week-old daughter for the very first time. This means that from this day forward, she will have lived with us longer than she lived in Korea. For me, this is a special milestone!
I'd also would like to ask for your prayers. I have been battling some very severe body aches and pains the past few weeks as well as many other strange maladies. I'm not sure what is causing it, but through research, I think it may be Hypothryroidism or Fibromyalgia. Neither one is a good option, but are likely since I have other autoimmune diseases. Let's pray I just have a bad flu or something and will be back to normal (well, as normal as it gets for me) in no time. I have a doctor's appointment Tuesday morning. Thanks!

All About February
Most likely this will be my first and last post in the month of February. I was just sure I had posted on my birthday, or after celebrating Lunar New Year, or on Valentine's Day. Apparently, however, I just had good intentions of posting but never actually did. So I will try to summarize our month as quickly as possible!
Our month started off with snow. Unfortunately, we still have some. I think I speak for everyone around when I say I am ready for spring! But, the kids had fun building a snowman with Daddy on February 1.
On February 10, my 34th birthday, I was cleaning the dining room and moved the chairs away from the table to vacuum. Then I went into the bathroom for a moment, and while I was there, I heard a strange noise. I came out to find this!
Apparently she drug a chair back to the table and climbed on up. What a stinker! That evening, Mom and Dad watched the kids and Ryan took me on a birthday date. Then we came home and enjoyed a sugar-free cheescake. Yum! Another great birthday present was discovering that the little girl whose referral we declined over a year ago has finally been matched with a family. Hooray!
On the 13th, we headed to Wichita to celebrate the Lunar New Year with our friends, the Beltons. Cindy was NOT on her best behavior. Talk about embarrassing. I'm glad they were very understanding, even when Cindy threw a toy in Dustin's soup. Sometimes I just don't know what to do with that girl. To call her "strong-willed" would be an understatement. But here's a cute picture of Kaden with his friend Lilly enjoying a Korean meal at Hot Stone.
And here's Ryan with Cindy after one of the many times he had to chase her down in the restaurant. -sigh-
The 14th, of course, was Valentine's Day and we gave the kids each a small box of chocolates. They thought that was pretty great! Here is a card I made of the kids using a kit by Jessica Edwards and also a card I made for my mom of all the grandkids using a kit by Pamela Donnis.
Sprinkled throughout this month, we have also had some not-so-fun adventures with Cindy involving her diaper, some illnesses, doctor's appointments, nose injuries, a new Bible Study, and lots of other things I'm probably forgetting. But, 2 of the most exciting things just happened this week.
First off, on Monday, Kaden started preschool! He is so excited about it. Here he is, ready to go to his first day of school.
His first day went very well, and things went well here at home too. I am watching his teacher's son during preschool time. He is 6 months younger than Cindy, and they had a great time playing together. After she woke up from her nap, Cindy drug me around the house looking for Ben. It was so cute. Monday was a long day between the start of preschool, Cindy taking a very short nap, and Ryan working for 15.5 hours. He left for work at 6:30 a.m. and got home at 10:00 p.m. It's amazing what a hungry rodent can do to a fiber optic cable! Thousands of customers were without phone and/or internet service, so Ryan had to work out in the cold until it was fixed. Luckily, it didn't take all night.
Tuesday afternoon, Ryan took time off and we all headed to Dodge City to apply for Cindy's social security card. We had a terrible time applying for Kaden's, so I was prepared for the worst but was pleasantly surprised. They accepted her passport and adoption decree and said we should get her number in about 2-3 weeks. It will be issued in her American name, but I'm not sure if she'll be listed as a U.S. Citizen or not. So we will go back with her COC once we have it just to be safe.
In fact, at the last minute, I decided to take Kaden's COC with us to check on his citizenship status. I'm glad I did because he was still listed as a resident alien. When they put the COC information into the "system", it still didn't recognize him as a citizen. They said they will check with USCIS and get back with us. Please pray that we aren't in for another huge hassle. We really need that changed and we have all the necessary documents, so it should just work!
Phew, that's a lot of information for one post. That's what I get for not blogging in a timely manner. LOL! Hopefully I'll do better and keeping up-to-date in March.

Cindy's 1st Snow
I just realized this is the last day of January and only my 2nd post for 2010. At this rate, there won't be much to read about this year. I guess time just got away from me.
This winter has been a tough one for us. We've had more than enough illness to go around (I'm currently fighting the flu) and the weather has been so bitterly cold that we haven't been able to go outside which makes for some very antsy children. Despite the cold weather, we haven't had any snow. That is, until this weekend!
Cindy was so excited to go outside and explore this new winter wonderland. However, once she was actually out in it, she wasn't exactly impressed. LOL! Here are some pictures of her first trek in the snow.
Here she is all bundled up and excited to go outside:
Kaden, our snow eater, couldn't wait to get a mouthful of snow!
He also loves to make snow angels:
Cindy, on the other hand, does NOT like to eat snow or make snow angels!
But, she sure looks cute in her snowsuit!

That is, until some snow got in her face (actually from Daddy, not brother):
That was the end of that! She came in, got warmed up, and stood at the front door watching Daddy and Brother play in the snow. Kaden would have stayed out all afternoon if we'd let him. We made him come in before he lost his nose to frostbite! I find it funny that he is terrified of water and doesn't enjoy getting any water in his face or being in the bathtub or pool, but he adores snow. Cindy is the exact opposite. She loves to swim and isn't the least bit afraid of water (much to my concern), but she didn't want any snow on her. Kids are so funny!
We are looking forward to a fun-filled February coming up. We've got new Bible studies, birthdays, Valentine's Day, Lunar New Year, and the start of preschool for Kaden. It's going to be a fun month! Hopefully Cindy's sleeping will go back to normal so she can enjoy it and not be cranky. She had all of her teeth in by the end of 2009 and we were so glad to be done with teething. But, she has decided to be an overachiever and get her 2-year-old molars early. They are causing a lot of discomfort and she wakes several times during the night and is up at 5:00 a.m. every morning. Pray that those silly teeth come in quickly!
